Cinco de Mayo

The holiday of Cinco De Mayo, The 5th Of May, commemorates the victory of the Mexican militia over the French army at The Battle Of Puebla in 1862. It is primarily a regional holiday celebrated in the Mexican state capital city of Puebla and throughout the state of Puebla, with some limited recognition in other parts of Mexico, and especially in U.S. cities with a significant Mexican population. It is not, as many people think, Mexico’s Independence Day, which is actually September 16.

Free nutrition Seminar this saturday!

Please join us this Saturday from 1-3pm as we welcome Dallas and Melissa Hartwig from Whole9Life for a FREE Paleo nutrition discussion and Q&A.  On Monday May 9th we are starting a 30-day Paleo challenge and this information will be invaluable to you over the next month.  Dallas and Melissa typically charge for their time but will be coming here at no cost to you.  They won’t even be trying to sell you anything (although “Whole30 Success Guides” will be 50% off).  This is a very rare opportunity.  Space is limited and if you’d like to attend (and bring friends and family) we’d love to have all of you.  Please RSVP by Thursday so we can have enough chairs for everyone and let the Hartwig’s know how many people to expect.

When RSVPing, please let us know which parts of the day you’ll be attending:

11am – Team Workout (Newbies Welcome)

Noon – Paleo Lunch featuring freshly cooked items from the Carry Out Cafe in Newburyport. (we’re asking that people bring a paleo food item or throw in $10 for catering costs).  Here is the menu:

Grilled chicken salad with asparagus, red onion & grape tomatoes
Grilled Vegetable Antipasto
Crustless Quiche with veggies & sausage
Fresh Fruit

1-3pm – Nutrition Discussion and Q&A with Dallas and Melissa
